Revised-LaCosta Canyon Spoils El Camino in 38-21 win in football

The Lacosta Canyon Mavericks improve their record to 6-0 on the season always known as a traditioned football team with a quick offense and a fast defense proved themselves today as they defeated the Wildcats of El Camino HIgh School by a 38-21 in a well contested battle that was held at Herb Meyer Stadium.
Karron Lippert led the Mavericks with 21 carries for 134 yards rushing, teammate JaQuan Carroll carried the ball 7 times for 113 yards and scored 1 touchdown run of 7 yards, Jake Newfield 11 completions out of 12 attempts for 127 yards scored 3 touchdown runs of 2, 2, and 13.  Jake Sheck threw a halfback pass to Zach Monihan (3 receptions for 86 yards) for 7 yards.  Field Goal kicker Boyd Taro connected on a 29 yard field goal for the win.
Sean Sovocol Lacosta Canyon Head Football Coach:  “It was a good game today I was surprised on how we won but battled hard tonight as our squad is like a family and I’m thankful for these guys, they played good solid football tonight.” “We are ready for Mission HIlls next week in a big contest at our stadium.”
Jaden Casey 27 completions out of 42 passes for 349 yards along with 2 touchdown passes of 70 yards to Malachi Russell (8 receptions for 91 yards) and to 2 yards to Kameron Bullock (3 receptions for 34 yards.  Chris Brown 10 carries for 13 yards scored the other Wildcat touchdown on a 4 yard run.
The Mavericks of LaCosta Canyon will host the Grizzlies of Mission Hills in a battle of undefeated team while the Wildcats of El Camino go to 3-3 will host Fallbrook High School.

Steve Forbi’s 12 yard run along with a 13 yard run by Keith Chung paced the Wildcats of Howard to a 14-12 win over the Bulldogs of Brandywine. The Bulldogs touchdowns were scored by Jack Russell’s 20 yard pass to Michael Rayman and a 4 yard pass to Zion Carr.

QB Ricky Kane 4 yard touchdown run and passed for 19 yards to Michael Norseworthy and scored on a 7 yard run to pace the Ravens of Sussex Tech to a 31-7 win over the Jaguars of Appoquinimink.

Friday, September 29, 2017 Games and Wraps Justin McClain threw for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Delcastle to a 26-6 win over the Vikings of Christina for its first win in 20 games. Defensively the Cougars were led by Senior Jeff Hollins with 2 interceptions including a pick-6. Junior Tim Foth led the Delcastle defense with 8 tackles. Gordon Smith, Gemere March and Charles Warner we on the receieving end of the TD passes. Jeffrey Hollins had 2 INT’s, one return for a touchdown.

Chad Jones touchdown passes of 25 yards to Amere Lynch along with 2 touchdown passes of 20 and 70 yards to Naz Aire Miller paced the Tigers of Alexis I DuPont to a 35-13 win over the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant.

Pete Gosser had 12 carries for 75 yds and 2 tds runs of 1 and 5 yards paced the Force of Charter School of Wilmington to a 49-7 win over the Highlanders of McKean.

Lawrence Brown rushed for 263 yds and 3 TD’s runs of 40, 5 and 25 yards and teammate Zack Camilli rushed for 123 yards and scored 2 touchdown runs of 1 and 6 yards paced the Red Wolves of Conrad to a 41-14 win over the Lions of Red Lion Christian.

Isaiah Wilson’s threw for 210 yards and scored a touchdown along with teammate Wil Knight’s 4 touchdown runs of 5, 17, 67 and 15 yards paced the Eagles of Smyrna to a 54-21 win over the Vikings of Cape Henlopen.

For the first time in the history of 26 years of Polytech’s football career, the Panthers behind qb Vincent Tascione’s 47 yard pass to Doug Reed with the PAT good defeated rival Caesar Rodney by a 7-6 score.

David Bowman’s 2 touchdowns paced the Milford Buccaneers to a 49-0 win over the Seaford Blue Jays.

2 Jelani Bryant passes of 53 yards to Victor Marcelo and 12 yards to Matthew McGuirk paced the Spartans of St. Marks to a 35-7 win over the Auks of Archmere. Other Spartans performers Andrew Watkins rans for 2 touchdown runs of 11 and 50 yards.

2 Najzhier Banks touchdown runs of 38 and 77 yards, Terin Cochran 73 yard punt return, Jahsan Gildersleeve’s 2 yard run, Jared Gore’s 47 yard run, Kahron Benton’s fumble recovery in the end zone and Kyrees Pettiford 9 yard run paced the Colonials of William Penn to a 49-0 win over the Newark Yellowjackets.

Jarred St. John led the Saints with 85 yards rushing on 16 carries and 2 touchdowns runs of 2 and 1 yards. QB Arthur Potter completed 15 of 25 passes for 173 yards with 1 touchdown 20 yards to Adrian Watts as led the Saints in receiving with 6 catches for 74 yards and 1 touchdown of 20 yards. Ryan Godfrey also scored on the day when he picked up a blocked punt in the first quarter and returned it 31 yards to pace the Cardinals of St. Andrews to a 35-17 win over George School of PA.
