12-5-15 Football Final Rundown Division I

Wil Knight 21 carries for 67 yards scored on 2 touchdown run of 1 and 6 yards,  Nolan Henderson’s 3 yard lateral, 86 yard pass to Charlie Taylor along with scoring an 88 yard kickoff return paced the Eagles of Smyrna first time they reached the DIAA finals since 1975 when they lost to Glasgow 38-35 for the inaugural Division II State Football made history as they reversed a 76-56 loss at Baynard Stadium the previous time this time defeated the Sals of Salesianum by a 32-26 score in overtime and won their first football Division I , Zack Gwynn threw 3 touchdown passes 2 for 21 yards and 11 yards to Jeremy Ryan, 42 yards to Kyle Cathers, Zack Jarome scored on a 38 yard run  for the Sals 6-0 lead for Salesianum Colby Reeder 32 carries for 94 yards.

 

12-5-15 Division II Football Final Wrap

3 touchdowns by William Morgan, Gerald Wiggins 20 carries for 94 yards and Korey Kent 6 receptions for 77 yards and 1 touchdown paced the Howard Wildcats after losing during the regular season by a 35-14 score made history as they reached their second Division II football title their first since 2002 after losing to Delmar defeated the top seeded Hawks of St. Georges by a  28-13 score.  For the Hawks Gary Brightwell 19 carries for 86 yards and Logan Gilbert 13 carries for 38 yards each scored a touchdown.

Del Norte vs. LaJolla Country Day Girls Girls Lax CIF Quarter finals

Del Norte Lady Knighthawks defeat the Lady Torres of LaJolla Country Day School 13-8

Willauer-Contributing Writer-Friday, May 10, 2024 Del Norte High School-Poway, CA:The Del Norte Lady Knighthawks behind the 5 goal performance of Elise Cardell and Kyra Evans 3 goals by Eliana Reynoso and Lila Kaminetz with 18 saves defeated the Lady Torreys of LaJolla County Day School.

The Lady Knighthawks have advanced to the semi finals and will play the winner of the Poway vs. Francis Parker contest on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at a site to be determined.

Wiontributing Writer-5-3-24-Duke Snider Field-Fallbrook HIgh School-Fallbrook, CA:  After a split at Sage Creek High School in the first game where the Bobcats won the first game by a 7-5 score, the second time they played Fallbrook won by a close 3-1 score but the third time these 2 teams played on the Warriors home field, Fallbrook found out the hard way on how they won as they scored 3 runs in the first, 4 runs in the second, 1 in the bottom of the third before the Bobcats scored 2 runs in the top of the third 1 run in the 4th and 5th innings as the Warriors won  by a very close 8-7 score. 

SC Zac Peterson 1 double Porter Rovin 1 double 1 run scored. Aiden Vogel 1 double Sutton Bassett and Zac Peterson 1 home run each 3 runs scored and 2 rbi’s Luka Shah is the losing pitcher 

FB:  Austin Baker 1 double and 1 run scored and teammate Brayden Dent 1 double and 1 run scored and pitcher Evan Thomas is the winner. 

Coastal Baseball Contest between Carlsbad and Rancho Bernardo

Rancho Bernardo scores 2 runs in the 3rd beats Carlsbad 2-1

By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Tuesday, May 7, 2024-Carlsbad High School-Carlsbad, CA: In a tight filled Coastal League Baseball contest the Broncos of Rancho Bernardo trailed early as Carlsbad’s Matt Kelly scored for the first 1-0 lead.

The Broncos took the lead in the top of the 3rd at 2-1 as Jordan Rocha and Nate Bembenek scored on Theo Kim’s RBI Single.

Brady Dochan records the win for Rancho Bernardo as they improve their record to 20-6 overall and 11-3 in conference play, as he pitched 6 innings gave up 5 hits 1 run 1 earned 1 walk and 1 strikeout for Rancho Bernardo. For Carlsbad at 15-11, Weston Thornberry is the loser as he pitched 6.1 innings gave up 5 hits 2 runs 2 earned 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

These 2 schools will be playing on Thursday at Rancho Bernardo High School 4 PM
